WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO REPAIR OR REPLACE CRACKED TEETH?
WHAT ARE CRACKS?
Dental Cracks are very common among people and this is one of the important dental concerns that have to be addressed while we are discussing improving dental health.
These cracks are easy to locate and they are also known as fractures. Cracks are the vertical or horizontal lines in teeth, above and below the gum line. Cracks are either visible or invisible to you. These cracks cause sensitivity in the teeth as nerve endings are exposed.
CAUSES
There can be various reasons for developing cracks in teeth and some of the reasons can be - large fillings, dental work, root canals, posts, excessive bite pressure from tooth grinding or clenching, temperature changes, trauma, and many lost teeth. You should be extremely careful while using some types of sonic toothbrushes and alcohol mouthwashes because they can corrode the teeth with every use and ultimately can also lead to cracked teeth.
